Scouting the Buccaneers
The Allatoona Buccaneers are still in search of their first win of the season as region play opens this week. The Buccaneers have been paced offensively by sophomore running back Xavier Rucker who has rushed for 320 yards and 2-TDs. Rucker has also shown some versatility as a pass catcher out of the backfield with 201 yards and 3 receiving TDs. Meanwhile, seniors Camden Phillips and Deion Dobson lead the team in total receptions, (14 receptions, 168 yards). Defensively, Bryce Stack and Justin Lawyer lead the team in total tackles, while Rhett Howard has recorded three sacks on the season.
Scouting the Grizzlies
The Creekview Grizzlies improved their record to 3-1 with a win last week and will now look to make it back to back road wins this week. Quarterback Austin Guest added two rushing touchdowns and a passing touchdown to his season total. On the year, Guest has thrown for 555 yards and 7-TDs and has also rushed for 472 yards and 5 rushing TDs. Cal Schubert, Michael Roach and Jackson Stanley have been the primary targets for the Grizzlies. The trio has hauled in 32 receptions for 483 yards and 7-TDs. Defensively, Brant Freeman and Reed Anderson continue to lead the team in total tackles. As a team, Creekview has sacked opposing quarterbacks 15 times and have intercepted 3 passes.
Pundit's Pick
The Bucs have been struggling to get things going early this season. However, this is a program that has a lot of pride and we expect their defense to rise to the occasion this week and make this a contest. However, the Grizzlies have a little more experience on offense and we beleive that will be the difference. Grizzlies by a touchdown.
