Scouting the Warriors
The Cherokee Warriors will close out the season this Friday at home in the friendly confines of Tommy Baker Field. The Warriors will be looking for their first region win on Friday night. Last week, the Warriors were able to find the end zone a couple of times through the air as Tanner Savasir completed touchdown passes to Gracen Sexton and Malachi Echols. For Sexton it was his third touchdown of the year and the second for Echols. Savasir has thrown for 1,746 yards and 9-TDs on the season. Defensively, the Warriors continue to lean on seniors Weston Bergman, Javon Hobson, and Kenyon Hunter and Chase Montgomery.
Scouting the Mustangs
The Kennesaw Mountain Mustangs are also in search of their first region win this Friday night. The Mustangs gave Wheeler a scare last week, but were not able to pull off the upset against their Cobb County for. Kennesaw Mountain has a relatively balanced attack this season. Chase Jones leads the team with 513 yards and 2-TDs on the ground through eight games. Meanwhile quarterback Tyson Harmon has thrown for 871 yards and 2-TDs. His top targets have been Nalin Scott and Kobe Lewis. The duo has combined for 45 receptions and 547 yards. The Mustangs have sacked opposing quarterbacks 14 times with Christian Winston leading the way with 6.
Pundit's Pick
Both of these teams are looking to build momentum going in to the off-season with a win in their final game. While the teams have identical records, the Warriors offense has been a little more consistent this season. We like the Warriors at home this week by 8.
