Scouting the Eagles
The Etowah Eagles will close out their season on Friday at home. It has been a season of growing pains for Etowah, who had been playing improved football over the last several weeks. The Eagles were stymied on offense last week as they were held to under 100 yards of total offense. The Eagles are averaging 13.3 points per game this season while the defense is allowing 30.5. Coming into last week’s game, Etowah was averaging 19.3 points over their last three games.
Scouting the Warriors
The North Cobb all but wrapped up the region title with a win last over Cherokee. The Warriors were dominate in every phase of the game on every Friday night. North Cobb continues to get great performances from their running back duo of Zach Belyeu and Arquevious Echols. The pair has now rushed for 1,316 yards and 20-TDs. Quarterback Nick Grimstead has also chipped in 582 yards and 9-TDs on the ground. We mentioned this last week and we will mention it again that North Cobb will look to establish the ground game. On the year, the Warriors are averaging 42.7 points per game and allowing 19 points per game.
Pundit's Pick
The key this week lies in Etowah's run defense. Can Etowah slow down the North Cobb ground attack and can Etowah establish the ground game. Based on season results thus far, that’s a tough task for the Eagles. We like North Cobb by four touchdowns.
