Scouting the Grizzlies
The Creekview Grizzlies will try to bounce back from their worst defeat since the 2015 season when they lost their season opener to Sandy Creek, 41-0. The Grizzlies struggled to get anything going last week as they fell to Cambridge, and now have to turn their attention to Lassiter as region play. Creekview has relied heavily on the ground game in the first three weeks of play, as they are averaging 198 yards per game on the ground and just 61.7 yards per game through the air. Mason Munn leads all Grizzly rushers with 290 yards on 43 carries, which equates to a 6.7 yard per carry average. Quarterback Austin Guest is second on the team in rushing with 218 yards and 2-TDs. Defensively, the Grizzlies are yielding 18.6 points per game. Brant Freeman and Ryan Brooks have been tackling machines for the Grizzlies as they have tallied 30 and 28 total tackles respectively.
Scouting the Trojans
The Lassiter Trojans got a big win this past week as they blanked Northview. For Lassiter it was their largest win in two years. The Trojans are averaging 178.3 yards per game through the air and just 84.7 yards per game on the ground. Quarterback Mitch Seamen has passed for 527 yards and 4-TDs on the season. His primary receivers have been Collins Price (19 receptions, 203 yards, 2-TDs), Levi Mundt (11 receptions, 132 yards, 1-TD) and Gavin Rose (7 receptions, 126 yards, 1-TD). Seamen also leads the team in rushing with 96 total yards. The Trojans defense has been pretty good all year allowing 15 points per game.
Pundit's Pick
This is the start of region pay for these teams and neither can afford a slip up, so something has to give. The Grizzlies will need to get pressure on Seaman and really stymie the passing attack. Alternatively, expect Creekview to get back to the basics with the ground game this week on offense. We believe Creekview is a little more battle tested and like them to bounce back this week. Grizz by 17.
