Scouting the Grizzlies

The Creekview Grizzlies come off the by week looking to finish strong and earn their way into the GHSA playoffs. The Grizzlies out-dueled Pope in their last game as they had their best outing passing the ball as they completed 78.6% of their passes, including 5-passing TDs, both season’s best. Creekview also chipped in a mere 371 yards on the ground as eight different runners carried the ball. Creekview is averaging 162.9 yards per game through the air and 203.1 yards per game on the ground. Austin Guest (624 yards, 9-TDs) and Mason Munn (575 yards, 5-TDs) are tops on the team in rushing. Creekview’s offense had their second biggest offensive explosion last week and are now averaging 30.2 points per game while allowing 22 points per game.

Scouting the Knights

The River Ridge Knights suffered there second consecutive loss as it was their second time in as many week’s falling short by 3 points. River Ridge’s offense took some time to get started, but once quarterback Ethan Spector got hot, he delivered some extremely impressive touchdown strikes. The Knights continue to look to the skies for the bulk of their offense; through thier first seven games they are averaging 185 yards per game passing. River Ridge has not had to rely as much on the ground game as they are averaging 62 yards per game on the ground through their first seven games. Defensively,Wyatt McCarty continues to lead the team in total tackles while fellow linebacker Harris Deriso and lineman Mason McClendon pace the defense with three sacks each through seven games.

Pundit's Pick

The winner of this game will almost assure themselves of  a playoff game, so there is a lot at stake on Friday night. Creekview’s secondary will hav ether hands full trying to cover a very talented River Ridge wide receiving corps. Meanwhile, River Ridge’s defense will have to find a way to slow down Creekview’s ground game. We like Creekview’s chances if they can control the clock with sustained drives to keep the explosive River Ridge offense on ice. That’s easier said than done. We believe River Ridge prevails on the strength of their aerial assault. Knights by 13.
