Scouting the Knights

The River Ridge Knights will look to get into the win column this week as they will host Denmark in their home opener. The Knights played just over a quarter and half last week before weather canceled the game. We did not get to see the full compliment from the Knights due to the shortened game, but River Ridge fans have got to be excited about Grant Hollier and Thomas Thompsen. The duo combined for 4 receptions for 38 yards and a touchdown. This week, expect for all of the Knights receivers to get involved. We also expect that River Ridge will look to get Camden Cox and Micah Pugh going early on the ground. River Ridge was held to just six yards on the ground.

Scouting the Danes

The Denmark Danes will go on the road looking for their first win of the season. The Danes got a fantastic performance last week from running back Noah Laban who rushed for 274 yards and had 87 yards receiving and accounted for all of the Danes touchdowns. Expect for Denmark to go back to the well this week with Laban. While the Danes had no issue at all getting points on the board, they will have to shore up their rush defense this week if they hope to get a win. That assignment will fall on lineman Caleb French and linebacker Dalton Tallant as these two anchor the Danes front seven.

Pundit's Pick

For the Knights to win, their defense must find a way to contain Denmark’s Laban. That’s easier said than done. We beleive the defense will have to force a couple of turnovers. Offensively, expect for River Ridge to be opportunistic getting the ball to their talented receiving corps, yet we believe that time consuming drives that keep the Danes offense on the sideline is the key. For Denmark, getting Laban going will be the big key on offense. These teams should light up the scoreboard this week. The Knights get back on track this week, River Ridge by 4.
