Scouting the Wolfpack

The North Paulding Wolfpack had their brief two game win streak come to an abrupt halt last week at the hands of North Cobb. Over their first five games, the Wolfpack is averaging 24.6 points per game on offense. They are averaging 150 yards per game through the air and 199.2 yards per game on the ground. Quarterback Tyler Niehr has thrown for 750 yards and 6-TDs. Twelve different receivers have caught passes for North Paulding, led by Dube Enongene with 14 receptions for 282 yards and 4-TDs. Running backs James Shelley and Khalil Harrell have combined to rush for 703 yards and 10-TDs. North’s defense has allowed 25.6 points per game. As a team, they have recorded nine sacks and forced four turnovers. Brandon Lentz leads the team with 34 total tackles.

Scouting the Warriors

The Cherokee Warriors were off last week after letting a large lead slip away in their last outing. The Warriors offense has put up some big numbers this season, averaging 39.2 points per game. Going into the bye week, senior quarterback Tanner Savasir has thrown for 1,140 yards and was the leader in passing yards in Class 6A prior to the bye week. Malakiah leads all of the Cherokee receivers with 257 receiving yards. He is joined by talented receivers like Gracen Sexton, Wyatt Tash and Israel Conway to name a few. The Warriors are not just a one trick pony, as they have two dynamic backs in Christian Irwin and Brandon Hamilton. On defense, Senior linebacker Jayce Carson leads the team with 34 total tackles. Cherokee has sacked opposing quarterbacks 8 times this season.

Pundit's Pick

All of Cherokee’s games this season have been filled with fireworks and we don’t expect this game will be much different. North Paulding has shown an ability to put up points. For Cherokee, will the week off for fall break and a different routine throw off the Warriors? For North Paulding, will there defense be able to contain Cherokee’s explosive offense. We believe the Warriors get off to a slow start, but come back to beat out the Wolfpack. Cherokee by 7.
