Etowah vs River Ridge: Eagles and Knights square off in an all important region rivalry

Scouting the Eagles

The Etowah Eagles will be back at home this week in search of their first region win. The Eagles ran into a buzzsaw last week and were unable to establish he ground game. One of the bright spots for the Eagle’s offense was the return of quarterback Jack Strickland. Strickland looked most comfortable hooking up with Mason Mancini as the duo connected 6 times for 135 yards on Friday. The Eagles will need to find a way to regroup as they will face another talented football team this Friday.

Scouting the Knights

The River Ridge Knights will also look to bounce back after they also ran into a buzz saw last week. Despite the Knights current record, they can clinch a playoff spot if they win out. River Ridge has dropped their last three games entering this week. We expect the Knights to be at full strength this week as they should welcome back running back Camden Cox to the lineup. The ground game will be benefited by River Ridge's ability to throw the ball down the field with Grant Hollier, Sam Vincent and Thomas Tompsen.

Pundit's Pick

River Ridge has won the last three games in this series and we expect them to be able to run the ball with more consistency this week. Meanwhile, the Etowah air attack will certainly test the River Ridge secondary. We expect both of these teams to have success offensively, but believe River Ridge isa little more effective running the football. Knights by a touchdown.
