Knights look to stay red hot against Riverwood

Scouting the Knights

The River Ridge Knights are the only remaining undefeated team in region play. The Knights have won 4 consecutive games, all in convincing fashion, with an average margin of victory of 31 points. During that stretch, the offense is averaging 42.5 points per game while allowing 11. The Knights offense has seemed to hit their stride and are led by senior quarterback Ethen Spector, who has thrown for 942 yards and 17-TDs while completing 70% of his passes and just one interception. The Knights are averaging 188 yards per game through the air and 103 yards per game on the ground. They are coming off of their two best rushing performances of the year against Pope and Woodstock. Linebacker Wyatt McCarty and DB Nic Bryant continue to lead the team in total tackles with 36 and 29 respectively.

Scouting the Raiders

The Riverwood Raiders are back in action after their bye week. In their last outing, the Raiders were able to keep Sprayberry in check for a quarter but eventually fell to the Jackets. The good news for Riverwood is their starting QB, A.J. Rahal returned to action after suffering an injury in their game against Sequoyah three weeks ago. Rahal has thrown for 644 and 5-TDs. Zach Stair continues to lead the team in receiving with 33 receptions for 628 yards and 6-TDs. Riverwood is averaging 10 points per game while the defense is allowing 36.5

Pundit's Pick

The Knights have had back to back bye weeks and we wonder what impact that will have on them offensively with regards to timing. Their secondary should be tested by Rahal and Stair and the winner of that matchup will likely determine the outcome. Riverwood will have to find a way to generate  points in any of the three phases of the game. If they can’t do that, it could be a long night. We like River Ridge by 29.
