The regular season has come to a close and three of our county teams were able to punch their ticket to the playoffs. Let's take a look at the matchups for each of our county teams.

#2 Sequoyah vs #3 Alpharetta

Sequoyah cruised in their final game of the season over Woodstock, claiming their second consecutive Cherokee County championship. Alpharetta is coming off consecutive losses to Blessed Trinity and Roswell, ending their season at 5-5. History certainly favors the Chiefs, as Alpharetta has never won a road playoff game. Sequoyah is 3-1 when hosting a first round playoff game, including the 2018 first round, where Alpharetta made the trip to Skip Pope Stadium. Sequoyah will enter the game as slight favorites, and look to make the second round for only the 8th time in school history.

#3 Creekview @ #2 Blessed Trinity

Creekview had last week off, getting extra time to prepare and rest after their 7-3 finish. The Grizzlies will face the Blessed Trinity Titans, who rattled off four straight wins to claim the second seed. Creekview has never beaten Blessed Trinity in their four previous meetings, and the Titans are a seasoned playoff team, having been won at least one game in 11 of the past 12 seasons. Blessed Trinity were home for both of their losses this season, and the Grizzlies are 4-1 on the road. Creekview will make the trip to Roswell as slight underdogs, looking for their first playoff win since 2018.

#4 River Ridge @ #1 Roswell

The River Ridge Knights were able to clinch a playoff spot by running past Allatoona on Friday. This will be the fourth trip to the playoffs for the Knights, and their third in four years. The Knights ended the season at 5-5, winning their last two games. Roswell claimed a region title with their win over Alpharetta last week, finishing 9-1. The Hornets are one of the best programs in Georgia when looking at playoff history, having a 15-6 record in the first round. River Ridge will have to find a way to keep up with the Roswell offense that averages 51.7 points per game.
